Signature Park Hawks capture world series title
The 13U Signature Park Hawks won the Grand Slam World Series tournament on June 27 in Panama City Beach, Fla.
The Hawks beat teams from Texas, Florida and Georgia on their way to win the championship game, capping off another successful baseball season. On the final day of the tournament the Hawks had to play four games to capture the title, finishing strong with a dramatic last inning come-from-behind walk-off victory in the second game of the day and then completely shutting down the opposition in the final two games winning by a 4-0 margin in each game to win the championship.
The Grand Slam World Series tournament victory came on the heels of the 13U Hawks winning the 14U AAU Battle of the Bats tournament in Simpsonville, S.C.
Team members are Gabe Davenport, Austin Elliott, Michael Germano, Matthew Lewis, Brandon Marsh, Matthew Mastandrea, Loren Matzick, Tristen Powell, Zantravious Shields, A.J. Weed, Kobe Wharton, and Brett Whitford.
The team is coached by Rod Davenport, Doug Lewis, John Germano and Jake Marsh.

Signature Park Hawks win at East Cobb
The 12-and-under Signature Park Hawks won the East Cobb USSSA World Series Qualifier tournament last week at the East Cobb Baseball Complex.
The Hawks went undefeated in the tourney with wins over the Kennesaw Xtreme, West Cobb Wildcats, Oregon Park Dawgs, East Cobb Colt .45’s and East Cobb Braves. They are coached by Rod Davenport, Doug Lewis, John Reppert and Keith Elliott.

Hawks claim tourney title
The 12U Signature Park Hawks won the Nations Baseball First Pitch Freezetournament championship last week in Winder.
The Hawks went undefeated during the tournament, defeating the Covington Catch 9-1 in the championship game. The Hawks scored a tournament-leading 38 runs and hit three home runs on their way to capture the crown.

Mill Creek wins Triple Crown title
The Mill Creek Hawks 11U travel baseball team won the 2008 Triple Crown Georgia Fall State Championship on Oct. 26 in Marietta. The Hawks defeated the East Cobb Stars 9-6 to win the championship.
The Hawks scored a tournament-leading 44 runs and hit four home runs on their way to capture the crown.

Hawks complete season with World Series title

The Mill Creek Hawks 10U travel baseball team won the 2008 Grand Slam World Series on July 11 in Panama City, Fla.
The Hawks defeated Stixx Baseball 10-0 to claim the championship.
The Hawks’ bats pounded out a tournament-leading 76 runs, and its defense played nearly error-free ball throughout the tournament. The Hawks’ pitching staff held its opponents scoreless in two games, including a combined no-hitter against the Elite Force in which Mill Creek won 12-0.
The Mill Creek Hawks 10U team finished its fall and spring seasons with a combined record of 61-9. In addition to winning the Grand Slam World Series, the Mill Creek Hawks 10U team won the following: 2008 BPA Georgia State Tournament, the 10U USSSA Cat Attack Tournament, the Forsyth USSSA Fall Slugfest, the second annual Battle of the Heritage and the Octoberfest Tournament in Easley, S.C.
The Hawks were the 2008 GGBL National Division champions and finished second in the GGBL county tournament and second in the USSSA Lagrange NIT Showdown.

Mill Creek captures state title
The Mill Creek Hawks 10U travel baseball team won the 2008 Georgia Baseball Players Association (BPA) state tournament in Dalton on June 15.
The Hawks hurlers pitched three shutout games and the defense held its opponents to a total of three runs in five games. The Mill Creek bats produced 31 runs, including three home runs in one game against the Reebok Suns.
